I have decided to develop my dog illustrations to link more with certain occasions and I felt that a quirky and interesting way to do this that would appeal to my target audience would be to adorn my characters with props and costumes. Because I felt that this would be quite difficult to do straight away digitally I printed sheets of the dog outlines and applied my ideas by hand. I found this helpful as it pushed me to think of a wider variety of ideas and consider items I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. It also made the digital process a lot faster as I had something to refer back to.
